It started as a mistake. I spilled ink onto a my leather work gloves. At this point, I had already been fascinated with the detail and beauty in fine leather accessories. My work gloves were anything but the finest leather ever made, but they did what they needed to do: they opened my eyes. The ink sunk into the porous material and created the most obscure combination of colors. Before the ink even had time to dry, I had already lost myself in a world of possibilities. At that moment I knew I wanted to start a luxury leather company.

If only you could see the look on people faces when I tell them I’m starting a luxury leather company. In a world blinded by high tech business startups, we often miss just about everything else. It didn’t help that I knew nothing about luxury leather, fashion design, or the entire industry for that matter. But I did know a bit about business, so I pushed forward into the unknown.

Long story short, I figured out what needed to do, and I met the right people along the way. Now I’m here and I still have no idea what I’m doing, but I designed a wallet, so it’s safe to say that I know quite a bit more than I did a year ago.

This all goes to show that you are able to do whatever it is you want to do. You can create whatever it is that you want to create. There is nothing in life that is more fulfilling than creating something. So stay the course. Take your piece. Create something for the world to share. Write your story. Walk the path less traveled, and let every Paolo product remind you why you started.
